DIY Orange Infused Night-time Body Butter

I’m in love with this body butter! Not only does it smells amazing, it is fantastic for your skin. My skin is so soft and shiny.

This body butter should only be used at night, as Orange Essential Oil can initiate a series of chemical and biological reactions on the skin, known as photosensitisation, when exposed to UV radiation. The sunlight should be avoided for 12 hours.

You will need :

Large Orange

5 drops of Orange Essential Oil ( we use doTERRA Wild Orange )

One Cup of Coconut Oil ( melted )

Mixing Bowl

Whisk

Grater

Resealable Jar

Method :

In your mixing bowl, grate the zest of roughly half an orange.

Now add your cup of melted coconut oil.

Next add 5 drops of Orange Essential Oil.

Give everything a gentle stir and set to the side.

Leave your mixture, until it has hardened enough for your finger to leave a dent.

Now, using your whisk, whip your mixture until it has formed a creamy texture.

Now add your homemade, natural body butter to a clean, resealable jar. Store in a cool place. Enjoy!

Why these ingredients?

Orange zest is wonderful for your skin, it is full of Vitamin C which combats free radicals, that destroy functioning skin cells and adds a glowing shine to your skin. It also cures blackheads, dead cells, acne, pores, blemishes, dark circles and brightens your skin.

doTERRA Wild Orange Essential Oil is uplifting, full of antioxidants, antimicrobial and antibacterial.

Coconut Oil is not only great for moisturising your skin, it also has anti inflammatory and antioxidant qualities.
